I've got a acer timeline and i've noticed that i have been hibernating at night and in the morning i've lost 9% of my battery, does hibernate take a small draw of power? some sites say yes, some say no ( quick google search)
Mine used to, had to change some sleep setting in the bios and all was good from then on. S3 sleep is the best, exactly like hibernate used to be only it loads back up in about 3 seconds flat.
It's also worth noting that in Vista (and I assume 7) it also writes the data to disk when you sleep, if you were to disconnect the power or have a power cut it will still resume your session as if it had been hibernated.
edit - just read that link, seems that behaviour is Hybrid Sleep. Also since I enabled the S3 sleep BIOS setting, I no longer have the Hibernate option in the menu.
I also had a problem with Sleep in Vista. When it came back out of sleep the HDDs seemed all messed up and wouldnt work properly. I assumed it was something to do with the fact I have Raid 1 on the disks.
i cant get mine to do sleep or hibinate, it powers down then straight back up again. gone through all the settings shown in posts/links.
im on win7 now, it was brilliant on vista.
