Sun is great for the day but not at night when sleeping or your computer.

Mine usually idles at 40c. Tonight with a bit of net surfing I am seeing highs of 69! ( ;) )

Not that im bothered its just that my room is like a sauna and I have the windows wide open

Think its time to purchase a fan. Met office app is showing night-time temp of 20c in Leeds - I think that's the hottest I have ever seen it at night in UK

Any tricks to get cold? I am drinking water and cold shower in a minute before bed. Oh and thin sheet on the bed

Staying back with my family in England just now, and raging about the design of houses here. I'm used to it being mid twenties at night, that's fine- slide open big doors, whitewashed room, lie on bed in shorts, sorted, but since everywhere here is built to keep heat in, I end up lying in a puddle in lower temperatures than Taiwan. Bah, get me back there :p

Oh tricks. Go walk around outside in your underwear. Worked for me when I was acclimatising :p

Not even joking, its 20 outside, but about 35 in my room

I bought this on Monday for £280 and it has been a godsend! It de-humidifies while keeping temps at around 19C. The only issue is that you can see in the link it's now £240. Do I have a leg to stand on with regards to £280 vs £240 considering that I only bought it 3 days ago? I definitely recommend it though, just felt cheated on a miss promo.

Probably also helped that I went to bed at about 5am on average, just sit out until being tired/drunk enough to stumble in and crash. I appreciate that may not help during the working week over here...

Would love one but bet they rinse electric

I have seen Argos staff show things if a customer requests it. Not to mention, Argos was always one of the first high-street retailers to allow you to bring things back, especially I guess as you may have not seen it. I remember when I was a kid the queue for customer service was always huge because of people returning things.

You might not get too far though on trying to get your money back, maybe a credit note if the manager is generous.

Alternatively, you could probably just return it at customer services with any excuse and then just buy it again.

i bought a HD recorder and the DVD drive made a hellish noise.

They wouldn't take it back because the HD might have something on it. They refused to hear the noise but I said in a busy shop you never will. Lost 230€ it was Argos in Newry....

my fault for using their batteries for the remote learned now never to open the batteries but to use my own just in case I want to return as it's what the check...

Fortunately it's quite cool here now being in the country. Just need to have the window open. Guess you're kinda screwed in you live in a concrete jungle.

I get around 2 hours sleep a night in this weather I ****ing hate it . Today I looked in ad least 20 shops no where had fans in stock.

Think yourselves lucky. Its 1am and I'm at work which means I will be home and attempting to sleep during the day. If you think its hard in 20deg at night, try my first floor flat which must have been hitting 35deg during the day. Oh and sunshine, great..

No work tomorrow so don't plan on even trying to sleep tonight until it cools down at 3 or 4am. Haven't had a proper night's sleep since the heat started.
