Anyone here ever had sleeping issues? And if so how have you dealt with them?
Basically have lots on my mind, that causes me panic attacks preventing me from sleeping. Normally get these episodes 1-2 times a year, especially when i'm on holiday and off work.
Normally end up going to the doctors and ending up getting beta blockers for the panic attacks but they never help really.
Following lots of stress at work keeping my brain ticking over double time at night (and a relationship break up at the same time) my gp proscribed 7.5mg of zopiclone as and when required.
I don't like the idea of these things - an old ex of mine had some trouble with them...but she had problems anyway.
I take a half a one once every now and then. These things can have adverse effects on your sleep patterns if you have them on consecutive nights.
That was my gp's recommendation along with suggesting that the knowledge that the medication was there if i wanted it might help as much knowing it was there even if i chose not to take any.
I'm not recommending these for you as i don't know your cirmumstances, but in a limited way they have been of use to me.
Since i usually play games pretty much until i sleep, i find that my mind is still too active for me to fall to sleep quickly. Although it isn't the most manly thing to do, a nice hot chocolate and a read in bed help me to sleep rather easily, i would just suggest a subtle book that doesn't keep your mind active.
Although, if you are on medication, I can't see a hot chocolate helping much but it might help you relax a tad.
I don't have a sleep problem and I still drink a lot of coffee / sugar so unsure why I am fine when I probably shouldn't be.
