Sleeping

I have to sleep in my back as my heart beats very fast and out of rythem - If I lay on my side it gives me shocks.

interessting. or maybe its just a load of rubbish like horroscopes

#The Foetus: Those who curl up in the foetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax.

This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41% of the 1,000 people who took part in the survey. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position.

# Log (15%): Lying on your side with both arms down by your side. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd, and who are trusting of strangers. However, they may be gullible.

# The yearner (13%): People who sleep on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious, cynical. They are slow to make up their minds, but once they have taken a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it.

# Soldier (8%): Lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don't like a fuss, but set themselves and others high standards.

# Freefall (7%): Lying on your front with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side. Often gregarious and brash people, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don't like criticism, or extreme situations.

# Starfish (5%): Lying on your back with both arms up around the pillow. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don't like to be the centre of attention.

I have to sleep in a specific way when in my own bed (I can sleep in whatever possition when anyway else, ye, im wired). Here it is. I sleep on my side facing left, right arm outstretched under pillow, left arm bent with hand under pillow, right leg straight, left leg bent like your sitting whilst sitting down. :D Anyone else do this? :D Its The Best!

funnily enough i do exactly the same, very strange indeed, usually wake up with a dead hand/arm, which freaks me out when i try and prop myself up and my arm just flops down, leading me to face plant the pillow or my fiancee

Can only sllep on side, curled up. And i prefer to be enclosed, my old bedroom was the best as the bed was half way in a kinda tunnel bit, (wall on one side, shelfs on the otherside and a shelf going from the shelfs to the wall) You felt really enclosed but not clostraphobic (sp?).

edit: i also like pitch blackness, not just a dark room, the blinds should be fully fitted like velux ones, no light through the door frame etc. and no LEDs!!

I can't sleep on my front because it makes me feel sick for some reason.

I like leaving a space between the wall and my mattress and sleeping with my head down the gap, but now the wall has gone all brown where my head is :(

My sleeping position has been really messed around lately due to sharing a single bed. Before I was sort of like you, but now it's on my side behind her then fall onto my back with my arm pinned down by her head.
Awwwwwwww..... :)

i am one of the lucky ones who passes out before my head hits the pillow and can sleep through noise if its there when i fall asleep. When i was 10 i fell asleep at the Edinburgh tattoe during the cannons.

I'm one of these people that shifts about a lot during the night. I quite often wake up on the floor or at the other end of the bed facing a completely different direction. It can be really confusing.

Same :)

EDIT : Don't you just hate it when your half asleep then you feel like your falling ? Makes me panic so much :( :p

I can only sleep on my back. Tho I have to lie on my side for 5-10 mins before I can do so. Weird.

I cant sleep on my back. And still have trouble on my front or side. Its difficult to sleep when you are constantly elbowed in the face by your girlfriend :D

Before I go to sleep, I'm a Yearner, but apparently once I'm sock on, I'm a starfish. According to the BBC article, that often leads to snoring. No comment.

I sleep on my front and I cant get to sleep if the pillow is too warm, so I turn it over a lot :)
Yesterday I hurt my left arm to sleeping on my front was rubbish :(

Takes me ages to get to sleep. About a hour normally.

I would say I sleep in Foetus position. I can't sleep on my front because I'm so skinny it takes a lot of effort to breathe. Oh and when I am ill I normally kneel and curl my self up. While it might look a bit strange, rocking back and forth helps me feel better. :p

I woke up with my pillow pushing my jaw to one side. Now my jaw hurts :(
