Up till now i've been running a Gigabyte 780ti ref card , its a superb clocker and quite happily tanks along at 1280 core for 24/7 gaming

My question is that i'm thinking about getting another 780ti, and maybe picking up the Asus rog 780ti tomorrow.

Is there any drawback in running a ref and non ref card , how does SLI and overclocking work ?

Am i just better off looking for another ref card ?

These are probably silly questions, but its been a long time since i've run sli and all the info on the net is confusing and contradictory.

Many thanks as always

Ed

I ran a ref 780 and an MSI Lightning 780 in SLI... If I hadn't WC'd then it would have been fine but because the blocks didn't match up it was a bit of a pain so I sold the ref card on.

SLI worked flawlessly though.

Tbh just get another reference card, it looks 10x better and you won't be regretting it if you decide to watercool it
