hi i have 2 zotac gtx 285s arriving tommorow but i dont think they include any sli bridges? do i need a sli bridge or is that just for scaling? with my 4890s i obviously needed bridges but im new to sli?

I remember reading somewhere that an SLI bridge isn't 100% needed, however as I don't have an SLI config I can't confirm that.

Did you not get one with the Motherboard?

my mobo is not an offical sli board its a standard crossfire setup but you can enable SLI with a bios update which ive done.
so that why i havent got a bridge with mobo .
ive just ordered a bridge now elsewhere just to be safe

why are you going for 2x 285s when you already have 4890 cfs ?

lol long story had problems well maybe not problems as such but im not sastisfied and before anyone jumps down my throat im not slating ATI at all. They have now been sold, i have a thread in this section better edit my sig :)

They should run in bridgeless mode - as a stop gap - performance will suffer but you will probably mostly notice that as slightly increased level load times and maybe a few percent off the top when playing at very high resolution... generally bridges only come with the motherboard.

You will need a bridge.Should get them with the new cards.
The SLI bride always comes with the SLI capable motherboard.

Also i thought Gigabyte had released a new official BIOS to allow official SLI support on all thier SLI boards? Maybe if you contact them they will send you a bridge.

It will work without one but if it was me id want one :)
