SLI graphical issue

Hey all.

When playing games using the SFR mode in SLI (like Quake IV) I can see horizontal tearing where the split occurs between the rendering between each card. It's like the GPU balancing line but very much fainter and not green. It's not solidly on but is intermittent.

Has anyone else had this issue and how did you get rid of it? It's a wee bit annoying tbh and any help would be appreciated.

Well, i'd use Alternate Frame Rendering 2 and forget about split frame. I've never had anything but problems with sfr, and no where near the smooth performance i get with AFR2. Also, have u checked the v-sync option in both Q4 and the nv control panel and turned on tripple buffering in the nv panel? SLi kicks out a lot of fps, so if ** screen is only refreshing at 60-85hz (depending on type of screen etc) there's gonna be a lot of wasted frames, resulting in tearing. The tripple buffering helps increase FPS when using v-sync, works like a charm!

Heya.

SFR seems to give the best FPS in Q4, hence why I'm using it. I'm using triple buffering and v-sync in that game as for the most part I get 60 FPS (the refresh rate of my lcd monitor) and I hate the tearing. My problem isn't that though - it's a fine flickering line exactly where the green line would be if load balancing was shown.

Hmmmm, that is a bit weird, can't say i ever got anything like that. i might re-install q4 and see if i get anything like that.

I've had that a couple of times. Across the lower middle quadrant. I put it down to overheating and lowered my overclock and that fixed it. I am sure it's the separating point between the cards using split frame rendering. I'd give alternate frame rendering a shot.

Hmm i was thinking that it might be down to overclocking so will give that a shot. For most games I do stick with AFR but I do get higher FPS with SFR in Q4 for example.

Anyway, cheers for the help all.
