Hey guys well basically i was planing on getting another GTX 660Ti for Christmas and running it in dual sli But i have been hearing a lot of negatives about it such as, Very very high temperatures,sync jittering,and airflow. If you are interested on what hardware im a using link is here> http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=22912462#post22912462 <. A big concern of mine as-well is space between the two card's

["i have never done sli before"]

on my motherboard it looks like there wont be much room between the card's, Will this cause extreme temperatures? Do you think i am better upgrading something else in my rig other than sli? let me know and hopefully help me out i really wanted to do it but now i am having second thoughts!

Temps i get atm:

GPU {30c idle} {60-65c 100% load}

CPU {26-30c idle} {58-64c 100%load}

Thanks for taking you time to read and possibly help me out =) really appreciate it!:D

Sorry. I missed this earlier.

If you add a ref style cooler card to the bottom, this will help with heat issues.

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 660TI SuperCclocked 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE Borderlands 2 & Assassin's Creed III PC Games (3662-KR) £259.99
Total : £270.79 (includes shipping : £9.00).

Something like that. My SLI before water cooling was a ref card and a custom cooled card and when I had the ref at the top, the heat was too much for the fan to cope but after swapping them over, it was very managable.

Hope this helps :)

For the record, I do not get any stutter issues and have very smooth game play. If you are one screen gaming however, I wouldn't recommend those 660TIs as a wise setup. Something like a 7950 or a 670 would see you well with one screen gaming :)

Thank you for your reply but i have choosen to not go for sli i think its a bit silly because i may aswell just add the money to my 690 fund as i have 300 in the fund already =) going to have to save up around £4k for what i desire in my next build so any cash will help. Anyway thanks a lot!

I used to have SLI in my config and I haven't seen anything you described as cons. Build SLI - IMO - in two cases only:
* you want to have the strongest (most efficient) config buying two cards from top shelf,
and/or
* you want to save some money as SLI is in most cases much more cheaper than single card being more efficient in the same time - but it requires some market observation to save best amount of cash.

If you mean GTX 690 you really need to look at the screen resolution you are using. Also in 6 months time there will be much better GPU solutions on the market.
