SLI or Single card

Hi, I've seen that the MSI GeForce GTX 460 Cyclone 1024MB is popular and would it be better for me to have two of these in SLI or to fork out a little bit more for a single GTX 570/580/470/480 range

usual resolution is about 1600 x not sure lol on my current rig, this is for a new build
