SLI or Xfire???

You say nVidia have a documented track record with numerous threads, articles and so on? Well that's news to me. You can find plenty of articles of complaints about nVidia's driver and hardware issues, but most of the stuff you find about AMD's apparent driver issues is generally the same sort of people raging about how they'll never buy an AMD card because their drivers never work.

I was saying the difference in the level of support between the 2 companies has been well documented - you can say what you want but anyone who has been following graphic cards over the last few years will have a fair idea from reading the various articles, threads, etc. on the subject without ever having to own either card. Theres a taste of what I'm talking about here:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=23144207&postcount=59

But its beyond the scope of a post here to really cover it in depth. Don't just focus purely on drivers or specific issues but look at the overall level of support.

No one is denying it and im the one who posted the links to that issue.

And NV was facing a lawsuit over the Vista drivers.
You see the difference is People are not defending AMD from having issues, its NV users whom are claiming that NV have less.

Its not even about who has the most issues or less issues as such its about how the consumer is affected by them.

The thing I find hard to believe with nvidia and their faults is why do all the GTX 6 series card still not run @PCIe 3.0 straight out the box.

As people have said both companies have faults and if you use both companies cards you end up with twice the problems.

Exactly! issues are not always the same one at the same time.

AMD 7xxx had the wake from sleep issue for quite some time, then i see a thread popup on another forum with NV 6xxx users who are starting to get that issue.

And my opinion is that AMD is no worse when i look at the AMD issues and the NV issues and how they effect people, its just the your opinion is the opposite of mine as killing cards clearly is not seen as effecting consumers negatively to you as much as it is to me.

You say that like it's a bad thing. We don't know what the issue is, but in basic terms it was an issue between certain hardware configurations.

There was an issue there, demonstrated to be repeatable in "lab conditions" and a fix was found and implemented. That doesn't really show who's to blame, it just shows that it was fixed.

You're saying it as if AMD have issued a fix for nVidia having issues with a certain chipset.

AMD hardware's involved, so obviously they have interests in fixing it regardless of who is to blame.

What I don't get is why you're insisting blame must be on AMD when you know very little about the situation.

Well I pose the same question to you, when did I say it's not AMD's fault?

I'm not the one saying anyone's at fault, I'm not making claims or anything I'm just saying it's not clear who is at fault.

In buisness, other companies will not fix other peoples problems in case of come back and lawsuits. It is the way buisness is now sadly and whilst it would be good for AMD to fix something that wasn't their fault, I don't feel they did. I am not having a go but I do get fed up of reading the same thing in every thread...Nvidia did this and Nvidia did that and 590 blew up and blah blah blah. I could go on about AMD this that and the other but I just pulled something recent. I have no dislike of either company but favour Nvidia more so because of the ease.

I read most of the threads here, so I have a fairly good understanding of some of the problems seen with both companies and being completely honest, I am glad I stayed Nvidia because I see more problems with AMD "Drivers" than I do Nvidia and when I say "Drivers", that is what I mean. Little quirks some of them, to just not playing ball full stop others.

I do not go out of my way to bash AMD and find it quite pathetic when people do. I recommend AMD cards far more than I do Nvidia purely because of the price - performance.
