After having major issues with getting SLI to work correctly I decided to install windows xp 32 bit after having x64. I am now running 81.98 with Asus A8n32-sli board, with xxx 6800 xfx (485/1100) sli cards.

I know that the hardware is working ok, I have enabled SLI in bios and have the bridge installed, after installing the drivers windows prompted me that SLI could be enenabled which i did.

To make sure the SLI has kicked in I enabled the Load balancing option, my problem is whenever I fan any benchmark, e.g. 3dMark 2005, only one card is warming up, The vertical line does not appear showing the load, instead a horizatel flat line, (Like a dead heartbeat line) shows instead, this line does move up and down the screen.

I have been pointed already that this is a rendering mode issue. My point is when the SLI worked at some point and this was displayed I was getting double the framerate in the demos in 3d mark, I believe the issue that the renndering mode is not there is a software issue, as I did work before just cannot put my finger on the problem.

I Only have these rendering modes.
SLI Multi-GPU rendering
SLI Single GPU rendering
SLI Antialising

I know there should be Alternate Frame Rendering and Split Frame Rendering every single other system I have seen and screenshots show these however there is no otions to change this in the performace advanced settings in the driver.

Maybe I havent loaded a chipset driver or something I am desparatly pulling my hair out and would greatly appreaciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Thx I`ll give this a go, I have already run a coolbits hack and restarted before but it didnt says Forceware 2.0 so perhaps this will work.

I did this and the options still did not show in Advanced > Performance and quality settings > advanced > SLI rendering mode still only shows my original 3 options.

Now running 81.98, its now set to SLI - single GPU and now getting 10,000 in 3dmark 2005, where as before I had 5000, so something has now kicked in. I just find it kinda fustrating that I dont have these other options.

I have never messed about with these settings. I just use the correct game profile and I presume it pre-selects the right setting?

My problem is that I never presume anything.

Im sure that the issue is the drivers, I think that SLI is still in its infancy to a certain degree, and the amount of games that properly support it.

sorted it now

For anyone else who expierences this you need to go into the registry and Add Coolbits with the Value of 8. For some reason I had to do this manually downloading the coolbits from 3dguru does not enable this. After selecting the Rendering mode, you then get a disclaimer and you are then able to choose from a wider range of rendoring options.

Thanks to everyone who helped me sort this.

Glad you're up and running!

Personally I use either Alternate Frame Rendering or Alternate Frame Rendering 2 for BF2 and SLI AA 16x for PES

(Those are the only two games I play regularly)

Have fun!
