Hi everyone,
I'm new to the SLI world. I'd like some advice. I recently purchased two geforce 8800s. However i'd like to thoroughly test each card seperately to see if they are working properly.
I am building a new system tomorrow, so I'd like to know... should I just install both of them in SLI when I first build it, or should I install each card seperately to test each one?
Is there an option to test each card individually in windows via a benchmark, if I install them both at the same time?
I was looking at 3dmark06 and I do not see an option to test individual graphics cards, however I am on a laptop right now so that feature could be missing...
What would you guys recommend I do to make sure each card is working properly?
I am thinking about installing one card... running it on vista and then benchmarking... and then removing the card, installing the 2nd card and benchmark it also using 3dmark06. Would it be best to put the other graphics card in a different PCI-e slot than the other card if I test them individually? I'm assuming this will be a complete waste of time if it can be done via software with both of them installed at the same time.
Would really appreciate some advice as this is my first time building a pc.
Cheers.
