Hi guys,
was going to fit another nvidia gpu into my computer the other day then i realised my mobo only supports crossfire, so my question is should i just stick with my current motherboard and get 2x ati cards or switch the motherboard and get another nvidia card. Im not too sure on the difference speed and performance so was hoping you guys would have an answer thanks :D

Reading those you have two choices..

Either get a new motherboard and buy a second 560 or sell your 560 and buy two 6950's

Both cards offer fairly similar performance levels - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/293?vs=330 - and the story is the same when your running dual cards - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/299?vs=441

People say that the 2GB or vram on the 6950s will allow you to run at higher resolutions with more AA and thus will be more future proof however.

I run two 6950's and can't fault them at all, run all of my games maxed out at 1920x1080 with high to ultra settings and I get fantastic performance.

Okay thanks dude will look into it now, its just whenever i looked on the net most people say Crossfire performance is sub par compaired to SLI, is that true ?

Somewhat, you will find more new games will run out of the box fine on sli. While cf is more likelyto need cap profiles. Skyrim is a shining example of this.

Thats good to know as Skyrim is the main reason, although my system plays at 60fps on ultra detail every now and again there may be a random slow down which is annoying :(

Yer that was sarcasm on my part lol, okay i think ill just get a new motherboard any recommendations, in the £150 mark?
To be honest, with a motherboard that only does x4 at the 2nd x16 PCI-E, plus only a 550W PSU (not good enough for SLI or Crossfire), you only realistic option for upgrading the graphic card is sell existing one, buy another.
