sli with 2 psu

might be a daft question but my mate and i both got 8800gtx cards (identical) and we wanted to try them in sli on my mobo (evga 680i). now the problem is that we dont have an adequte psu to sli 2 gtx, ive got a targan dual engine 600W and my mate got corsair 620 (both got only 2 pci-e power connectors). i was wondering if we could run sli using 2 psus? would that cause any conflicts and would it be safe?

It should be fine, just even the load out.

The 620w would power both the cards by itself, you just need a couple of 2x molex -> 1x pci-e cables.

what about if i start overclocing both cards? and i have a clock of 3.3 on my e6400. would it run fine? we do have the molex-to-pcie converters but i just dont want to risk undervolting
