I am at the specification stage of two new Windows 7 desktop PCs that will share a yet to be purchased 30" display running at 2560 x 1600. Is KVM switching via DisplayPort or DVI viable at this resolution and would there be any loss of display quality?
I anticipate spending 90% of my time on 1 PC in any working hour with say 5 KVM switchs an hour. A 5 second switch delay would be acceptable.

I think my options are:
- Use the dual inputs of the display but will the display's input switch buttons have a duty cycle that will hold up to 5 years of routine switching?
- Use a high-end KVM switch.
- KVM Switch just keyboard & mouse but crank my neck around to a second display. I suspect this will do my neck in long term.
