slightly chipped GPU core

hi guys,

i've taken off the aftermarket HDF that was on my X800 XT when i got it, and there is a slight chip on the edge of the core...

could that cause a problem? is the important stuff deep inside that gunmetal grey square of magic or quite near the surface?

i'm just downloading 3d mark 06 to give it a go and see if it all performs, but is there some sort of stress test to make sure all is well?

If you are getting display output without any artifacts i would say all is OK.

I think if it was marked it'd be all or nothing, and seeing as you have it working then sounds fine to me
