Hi all i have just put my new kit togher and am slightly confused as to the reading,
2500k and mobo MSI Z68A-G45-B3. and 8gb ddr 1600

in the bios it is reading temp of 57-59 but in windows speed fan is showing more like real temps of 35-40 accrosss all cores also my mem is running 1333 not 1600 plz help

The CPU temperature is higher in the BIOS because none of the energy saving features are enabled until you boot into Windows.

You need to set the RAM speed in the BIOS.

There'll be a setting for DRAM speed which you'll need to change to 1600MHz.

Similarly you need to check the voltage for your RAM.

Depending on the particular RAM you've bought you can probably go down to around 1.5V which is better for Sandy Bridge.

What is the max rpm on a stock intell cooler?
Aslo is 56-59 in bios about right seems a little high to me but the cpu caller is only running at around 2000rpm so?

Ignore the BIOS temperature.

Stress the processor with Prime95, for example, and see what your load temperatures are.
