Slightly miffed with event tyres

Let's not get too carried away, I have used event tyres down this way many a time (Henley branch) and they have been great. Many of the people I work with now also use them for the convenience of fitting at work.

Never had issues with wrong tyres, they always use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts and even balanced the wheels twice to make sure they were spot on and call in the morning to confirm time and again 30min before they turn up. One fitter did put 39psi in my tyres but that's the only issue in about 8 times they have fitted tyres

Maybe the Manchester branch are different but I can't think of anything worse than visiting a garage and wait whilst they fit them.

E-tyres are more expensive (even with 5% discount) and offer a similar service

Oh and I recall that most times they confirm and show the tyres before fitting

Excellent service when I used them. The guy showed me the tyres first, confirmed the make and model and showed them again after fitting them. Bloke was friendly too. I'd definitely use them again.

I'm prepared to accept it was a genuine mix up, but what really got my goat was when the guy on the phone tried to convince me to settle on a cheaper tyre, after it was fitted, and for an arbitrary discount, whether it was a good deal I don't know, I was too peed of of to care by that point.

They say they can get the tyres I want on Friday, so I'm not sure weather to just go with that or go elsewhere.

If they are not prepared to give you some discount on the original price for the inconvenience I would just go elsewhere.

There are several alternatives and once you loose trust in a Company, no matter how good other people's experiences have been, I would just give them a miss.
