In the hunt for a slim phone at the moment. So far I have narrowed it down to two:

Samsung X820
Moto L7 SLVR

The SLVR is really growing on me, its thin and sleek just what I am looking for, has the features which i am never going to use but still handy. But then I have heard bad stories about it being too buggy. Call quality and a fairly decent bat life is what I am after. Ease of Text messages would also be another thing i am looking for.

The X820 is even thinner and i would probably snap it in half, but it seems to have better reviews but I'm not too keen on the style really.

can any one suggest any other phones like this to throw into the equation? Don’t want flip phones.

Cheers

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T GET A MOTOROLA

with that out of the way.... the s.e k610i is a small, light phone and may be worth a peek.

another vote to disregard the moto.

Samsung looks very sexy but i've never used one so can't really comment...

If it was a choice of the two, i'd also got for the Samsung.

Yes, the menu system on the Samsung phones are different, but that's the same for any make, just will take a little getting used to.

But god damn, the Samsung is slim! :D

Oh and i'm currently stuck with a moto phone at present, and it's driving me up the wall with its backwards navigation and just general poo-ness. Damn this RMA seems to be taking forever...

Thanks for the input guys. Didn't realise Motorola's were the spawn of Satan round here :p Are they that bad? What exactly is so wrong with them or the SLVR in particular? I can live is awkward navigation but don’t think i can compromise Call quality or random switching off which my current phone is doing!

I have heard the bat life on the X820 is not so fab? I don’t know what it is but the moto looks just that bit sleeker. My sister's just got he V3i and I quite liked that and pretty usable i thought.

Personally my dislike of motorola phones stems from working in a phone shop for most of this year. The amount we had coming back in with various problems was just silly. It almost always stemmed back to shoddy software.
Had every problem you could think of come in, randomly switching off, call dropping, speakers going, contact lists vanishing etc.

Hmm could be the luck of the draw, but with so many coming back with faults its not luck at all it seems!

Looks like I may have to reassess my options! The Samsung is still not growing on me though no matter how much i look at it :p

If the Moto lasts a year I'd be happy really, so wondering if i should take the gamble...

Good luck with it lasting a year :p
We had them coming back ranging from 6 weeks old to 8 months old typically.

hate the moto, if you want slim with a lil flavor then look at the samsung D900, it's a slider so it's a lil different from what you're asking but it's very very slim and has a wide variety of features including a 3.2mp camera.

Of course you could just go for it and take the gamble, but i'd make sure the shop/retailer has a polix that would let you return/swap it within a week or so if you were unhappy.
