I have 4 cores running very soon with another 2 at some point later this week.

Not exactly sure what Im doing but it seems cool!

If you're even remotely computery, please consider running the "smp" client. It works on linux which you can run on windows as a virtual machine so nothing has to change. There's loads of info about for that and we love to help

I will check it out, are we talking SMP as in multi CPU and if so how does this differ from running multiple copies of F@H ?

It runs one WU across all processors. The performance benefit is incredible.

OK well so far I have it up and running on my main rig in my sig, both cores and on both cores on my core duo laptop.

You sound like you know what you're doing, so:

Download vmware server
Download ubuntu
Set up vmware with 2 cpus and 600-1000MB of ram, use NAT as the network option
Install smp as per my mini guide (we'll sort this part out when you get to it)

And you'll see about 10x the points (literally)

Use the UK download server at datahop for Ubuntu - it's got the fastest stream currently - you need the 'other' option then download the AMD64 version (used for intel EM64T chips as well as AMD 64bit ones)
It's 690mb in size
