Former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic has died in The Hague, radio reports and his lawyer says.

Steven Kay, Mr Milosevic's lawyer, told BBC News 24 that he had been found dead in his cell on Saturday morning.

Mr Milosevic, 64, has been on trial at the UN war crimes tribunal for genocide and other war crimes.

The tribunal last month rejected a request by Mr Milosevic to go to Russia for medical treatment. He had high blood pressure and a heart condition.

Gotta wonder at that.

Good....best piece of news ive heard so far today, may he rot in hell for all eternity :D:D.

He has been given the easy way out. Which is ashame as I would have liked to have seen him rot in jail. It will save money though, and as said already, I hope he goes to hell and endures as much suffering as his victims did.

Folks, he was innocent until proven guilty.Probably. ;)

However the escape justice argument is 50/50. I just wonder what the guards at his cell asked him at lunchtime.

' More salt Mr Milosevic ? '

When, I mean if, found guilty .... he would have got a life sentence costing the taxpayer a fortune and the fact he is dead saves a lot of money as a trial would have cost millions although I know you can't put a price on peoples lives and that man is responsible for taking a lot of them.

He is dead and I really do not find that unappealing.

Guilty, guilty guilty :D :D

Good Riddance. May sound odd but you have no idea how long I have been waiting for this day. May the man rot in hell for all eternity for what he did and instigated.

I will refrain from getting too worked up.

Yes he has escaped justice (the fact he was on trial - for him was absolutely humiliating, which was good) and maybe certain facts about what really happened might not come out now - but I doubt he would have ever shown any remorse for his actions.

So let the conspiracy theories begin!!!!!!

Though can't be too good for the Hague as this is the 2nd war crimes detainee to have died in the last week and half. The other, Milan Babic, committed suicide.

Couldnt have happened to a nicer guy.

May the scum sucking worm rot in agony for all eternity!

Personally i think this is the best outcome. Maybe saddam shouldbe moved there>?

Although the man had not been found guilty yet it looks like he has escaped justice. The families of his victims will be having very mixed feelings at the moment. Hopefully they will find peace through his death.

I'd doubt it. I can't imagine what they're feeling because they'll have lost a brother, father etc etc. I know if it had been my own family I wouldn't have settled for anything less than a hanging....
