Right I have just reinstalled windows 7, and it booted extremely quick for the first few times, I then installed the latest sata driver for my Asus Rampage Extreme mobo and now it boots really slowly in excess of 2 minutes from pressing the power button to actually getting into windows.

Anyone know a way of fixing this, I know it's not windows 7 as it happens on any operation system i try from XP up to windows 7.

The annoying thing is it wouldn't be too bad but one of my HDD won't detect without the sata driver installed.

Maybe just a bad install? Just a guess, try re-installing them.

Also use a driver remover like DriverSweeper to make sure you got rid of them properly.

Nah I've tried reinstalling and cleaning the driver numerous times. It's really weird because if I remove the driver windows boots perfectly fine again...

Just a thought, what mode have you set the SATA drive controller to in the BIOS?
Mine has options for Normal ->AHCI & RAID, If I select AHCI or RAID my boot time is longer (not though to the tune of 2 mins..)
