Hi,

Got a problem with really slow boot up's on my PC. The problem only occur's if the PC is left turned off for a day or more, it's usually left turned off from thursday night through til sunday, as im not at the house.

The first part of the boot up is normal, but as soon as windows start's to load it slows right down, especially once it reaches the login screen. Usually takes a minute or two before the user icon comes up, then another few minutes til the main windows screen comes up. After that I have to wait about 30minute's before it will run properly, during this time the HDD light is going crazy, but there's nothing using up the CPU in task man.

I've given it a defrag, but there was no improvment in performance. Personally I think the HDD might be getting a bit worn out, it's about 4-5 year's old now.

O and I'm running XP Pro, if you need a full PC spec I'll do one when I'm back from work.

Any idea's?
