slow boot windows 7

Run system file checker:
Open CMD and type sfc /scannow

Try deleting the identity store:
Go to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking\ and delete idstore.sst

I would take the upgrade to Windows 10. Microsoft removed a lot of bloat which makes it load a lot faster than 7. Also, it's the future of Windows, like it or not, and Windows 7 is reaching end-of-life.

The Start Menu is still less than ideal though.
