Slow, cheap android performance increase?

Can't thank you enough to be honest Kev as that 40 mins turned into about 3 hours over all.
Phones sweet as now & unlocked, WIFI works & I'm running a nice custom rom, Looks nice, runs sweet, I'm well happy.

there are really simple videos on youtube you could have followed or one of the guides on modaco, xda, etc.

i followed a written guide and managed to unlock the phone in 15 minutes simply by reading what was on the screen in front of me and following it to the word.

All I have to do now is work out how to get my WIFI working again, I did save my MAC addy before unlocking so I think I just need to flash a ROM & enter MAC addy again

the updated guide tells you to backup a file from the phone

you can hexedit it and reupload it to the phone though which i what i did the first time.

which clearly says

7 You installed QPST in the first step. Now in the Start menu find "Software Download" which was installed by QPST.
8 Click "Backup" on the utility and choose where to save the "QCN" file
If your phone is not found then go to "QPST Configuration" in the start menu and add a port for your phone
9 Click Start on the utility
Make sure the file exists and is non-zero in file size before proceeding - if not try the previous steps again

then at the end

15, Go back to the "Software Download" utility.and click "Restore". Find the .qcn file you saved and restore it.

if you have the.qcn file you just need to restore it back to your phone.

if you dont you need to do the steps above and then hexedit the .qcn file to add the mac adress
