Hi all,
Recently upgraded to Sky Fibre and found the speeds not to be what I had hoped so started to review my setup.
Initially - long ext lead from master phone socket to lounge, Standard sky router in lounge along with Power Line adapter to take the connection up to my office.
Found speeds to be around 4mbps despite the router recording approx 30mb down.
Moved the router to right next to the master socket with the Power Line plugged in right next to it. Result - still no improvement although then had the idea to check the Wifi on my laptop which showed approx 23/24mbps down speed. Initially put it down to the Power Line adapters my friend had given me so bought a new pair (TP-Link AV500) which have proven to be a waste of money as there is no improvement.
Is there any reason why the PowerLine adapters would seem to be limited at 4/5mpbs? Would I be better off just getting a Wifi adapter for my PC (if so are USB or PCI better?)
Any help very much appreciated
Cheers,
Alex
