slow hdd

been using my old hdd drive on my new build for about 3weeks been fine and fast but since today been realy slow to boot up and install stuff and load games any ideas ?

is that good or bad, it is an old hdd drive but was running realy well

It looks ok for an old drive,depends how old? What memory u using and any Usb memory sticks or perepherals/printers ect,they might be causing pc to run slow

about 5years old lol erm got a tp-link wireless running off usb and just keyboard and mouse nothing else

o and got 8gb of memory but only 7gb available could that be the reason?

What motherboard and CPU ? Could be problem if 1gb is missing,is any reserved for onboard graphics

i5 2500k and asus p8z68-lx, in my device manager says only my gpu is enabled not the onboard 1

well heres what mines saying on a z68 v pro,and using 5870 graphic card

pop in the bios and make sure memory remapping is enabled

Your standby memory is over 6gb? Don't know if that's normal but doesn't look right to me,have you altered your pagefile or something?

I think its fine,I can't remember what mine lookedlike with 8gb,but it shouldn't be saying 8gb installed 7gb usable,Idk either if that's affecting you bootups ect,you could test each stick one by one in each blue ram slot one by one to makesure your rams working
