Slow internet for maybe a week?

Can it be a DNS issue, the guy at the wireless ISP said it is a prob. with the tower, no real specifics though. Wondering what the best DNS (I am in US) to use? The odd thing is un/replugging in the modem fixes it, but that gets old...
 
Slow internet in which way?

If it's slow on speedtests/downloads then it's unlikely to be DNS at all.

Websites being slow to load can be DNS, try using
8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (google)
or
208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (opendns)
 
Would give Google DNS or Open DNS a go.

What do you get in speed tests, during around 6pm - 9pm and around 1am - 8am? Could sometimes show if there's also a possible congestion issue.
