Hi guys,

Yet again i turn to your wise heads for some advice. I've got a 128gb Verbatim sata 2 ssd, and here are my performance stats:

Now is this an OK performance for an SSD ?

AHCI is enabled, but i have done so after installing Windows 7, silly me.

Win7 formated the drive and created the partision.

I have done all thos posible tweaks i could find on the internet but I still dont get the WoW effect  lol

Any help would be much appreciated.

Your SSD is SATA II. So those results seem right to me. If it was SATA III you would see much better performance.

Your speeds are very good for Sata 2 (A lot better than my old Vertex drives).

As far as wow effect you should get much quicker boot times compared to a HDD. Once up and running things should be slightly more responsive than a HDD but the difference is not massive for most things. A SSD just makes the PC feel nicer to use.

Thanks guys. Im just wondering if i would have enable ahci before instaling win7, and not after as i did,if this would make it faster ? Dont like the idea of reinstalling everything again :)

Hi guys,

I've done a secure erase using part magic and installed windows again. The wow effect is defiantly here now, i can see the speed of the SSD now, look at the graphs, they look a bit better. So for anyone that thinks there SSD is running slow and they have enabled AHCI after installation, i would say do it again :)

Thanks to everyone that posted and tried to help :)
