Slow puncture - options?

I have a slow puncture, there is some kind of nail in my front driver side tyre.

Looking at it this morning it's now flat. What are my options?

Do call out puncture repair people exist?
Should I just bite the bullet and buy a new type (£120!).
is it ok to change just one of the front tyres as long as I keep the make consistent? (my car is a rear wheel drive if that makes any difference).

I don't have a spare type (RX8)

Any advice appreciated.

if its in the side wall your srewed(pun intended) if its in the main part of the tyre then just get it repaired.

It's in the main part of the tyre, an inch from the side.....

Guess i'll find out if there are any call out repair people.

Thanks!

Ahh, after reading up it looks like I don't understand what the sidewall is.

The nail is not in the center of the type but move towards the edge (another inch and the tread disappears). Looks like I can't repair it :(

Have you asked if it can be repaired? can you pump it up and drive to your local place to have them look at it?

I don't have anything to pump it up with i'm afraid :(

I'll take a picture later on.........

If it's within 1inch of the side, it can't be repaired as the integrity of the sidewall could be effected. Take it to a tyre a place, they can check to see if it's repairable.

Shame you can't connect it to the forum, isn't it? :D

[edited out as I re-read op's post about hte spare, doh!]

If you don't mind wrecking a tyre, you could always try those tyre weld cans that line the inside of the tyre with gloop and fill the puncture, until you get another tyre sorted.

[edit] had a bit of a google and etyres i think do mobile puncture repair through whoever they call out to you. It's mentioned here:
http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-batteries-help#q23

if you're in the kent area, what about "Rubber Ranch" :D
http://www.rubber-ranch.co.uk/services.html

Another search with mobile tyre repair instead of puncture repair: http://www.google.co.uk/search?aq=t...ile+"tyre+repair"&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB

Note, I haven't used any of the companies mentioned and don't endorese them :)

What do you think? too close to the edge?

I had a nail in the exact same place, i was told it couldn't be repaired but you may have more luck.

I was more interested in getting a deal on 4 tyres than getting it repaired though.

Just chuck the spare on and take it down with you.

Havent' you got a spare?

Pop it on and drive up a local tyre place and ask. Kwik Fit fixed my mates tyre for free.
