got 2x f1 500gb sammys in raid 0 (no partions, would this make a difference?). raid is carried out by the onboard controller on a 890gx gigabyte
is anyone else getting poor speeds using onboard raid controller? im tempted to try a windows based raid instead at the moment
my max read is around 150mbs
one disc read 112mbs
although oddly on hwinfo32 the other disc pre raid said 35mb second which if you do some lose math is what both numbers are about combined. no errors reported on the disc though? and when i used a different program it reported a nice 120mbs. perhaps one drive is on duff firmware or perhaps the onboard raid isnt too hot. Performance does feel a bit snappier once i have logged into windows tray programs are loaded quick the mouse icon is spinning quicker, steam loads faster (haven't tested any games yet)
i was expecting 220-240mb burst
another annoying thing is the HD502HJ isnt sata 6g compatible or at least the gigabyte board wont recognize.
any ideas?
*edit another deeper test using HDtach got me 166mbs still not great though hmm average read was 150
