yeh i saw that and thought.. hmmm i'm paying for 16mb i guess i will have to give them a ring tomorrow. i have just tried speedtest.net and got 6mb.. is there any better sites then this? and does my line attention / noise look ok?

Its up to 16meg mate , have a look at Samknows website and type in your postcode / phone number to get an idea what your phone line will support.
:)

If you are synching at that speed there is a good chance your line may not handle ADSL2+.

Just got my sky router this morning and I am synching at 16100/765 getting results through speedtest.net of close to 14Mbps.

Right turns out it was my laptop holding me back. Im getting 7.5mb on the pc and i used sam knows and it says im good for the full 16mb. Once i have gave them a ring i will soon find out if this is true.

when i got sky broadband i was told that my line would be able to handle up to 12mb on the 16mb package, so i went for it... but it kept cutting out every 5 minutes so i phoned them up and after a load of tests and stuff they finally capped my connection at a nice and stable:

i will be going back to virgin asap.

There is clearly something wrong with your line. Did you speak to tier 3 support? I had this until i phoned them and they did something and it went from 1MB to 4MB(which is my max pfft). Worth giving it a go.
