Hi,

I've been having problems with a fresh windows 7 instal (Ultimate, 64-bit).

Very slow HDD response times. (1TB WD Cavier)

So far i've done a fresh instal, this was very slow itself.
Problem persists.

I then booted into Hirens boot CD from USB with the intention of running disk diagnostics. From mini XP I could see the drive but it was not accessible.

I then took my SSD from my laptop, hooked it up to my system and even this took a few minutes to boot. From this i suspected MB issue.

Flashed BIOS, still no change.

Currently running Memtest86 from Hirens.

Any suggestion? Spec in sig.

Cheers!

Not sure why it is slow but i always unplug my 1tb seagate and have only the ssd connected when i do a fresh install of windows 7 x64, after updates and setting up windows how i like it i then plug the standard hard drive in, go to computer management/ disk management and change drive letter, create another local disk or name it what i want to. In the BIOS i have AHCI enabled for all hard drives no matter if sata 3 or sata 2 like the 1tb seagate local disk. The SSD should be faster more responsive in the windows environment over a standard hard drive, well it always has been with my setup.
