Hiya, on the bulldog up to 8MB service. Usually sync around 2.4ish which considering i KNOW im on a long/old line isnt too shabby, would be nice to know ive done all I can to improve things tho.

Stats at the moment:

Downstream Rate: 1344 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 576 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 11 db
Upstream Margin: 18 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 48
Upstream Line Attenuation: 28

Now im looking at one of the filtered faceplates as one option along with a decent bit of shielded RJ11 between it and the router. Any suggestions what else I can do? Have a netgear D834G or the square tin linksys router to pick from also.

Well... no-one replied but just in case it can help anyone else - get hold of one of the filtered face plates that fit the master socket if you have the right type of socket. The stats above were with a normal socket + external filter I now have:

Downstream rate: 5280 Kbps
Upstream rate: 576 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 8db-10db (ok worse but..)
Upstream Margin: 19-20db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 50
Upstream Line Attenuation: 27

So stats havent improved THAT much but I now have 4Mb extra.... quite an improvement for £11 :)
