Any idea when we can expect the lower core2 duo model, the one with the slower fsb. I seem to remember reading that this is suppose to be a 6600 in all but fsb speed, so if that is the case it could be a peach.

I doubt there will be a 4mb cache slow fsb core2 duo - but I could be wrong.

In general though I believe the slower chips should be available in a month or two

The E4200 is a 32bit Allendale essentially as far as I'm aware, it'll use a 8x200MHz bus/multiplier.

Jokester

Edit: Maybe not 32bit, but it lacks Virtualisation Technology whatever that does.

I think I read in one of the computer mags that this would be coming out next January?

Might be wrong of course!

intel were initially going to bring out a E4200 (8x200fsb), but since amd were coming out with their 3600 x2, intel changed their plans to a E4300 whihc is 9 x (200fsb) same multiplyer as E6600 but 200 fsb instead of 266, also only 2mb cache instead of 4mb. its due out after christmas
