Sluggish HDD

Recently I've noticed startup times and program loading times becoming very sluggish.

My HDD (500GB Western Digital WDC WD5000AAKS) has also started making slight clicking noises on spin-up and the indicator LED is lit even when there seems to be no reason for the drive to be under load.

I've tried all the software-based solutions I can think of - Defrag, Disc cleanup etc. - to no avail.

WD's S.M.A.R.T tool passed the HDD, but gave no additional information.

Speccy's S.M.A.R.T tool shows the following readings, but I have next to no idea what they mean.

I keep the drive as tidy as I possibly can, but I do a lot of work on my PC - so I typically have 150GB free of the 500GB capacity.

I thought that the drive might have suffered some kind of physical damage as, while never knocked about, the PC is moved around quite often.

Any advice on how to get my PC performing to its former standard again?
