Hey. Just got this PC today for free off a friend. He formatted it so I had to reinstall a ton of drivers. In Device Manager, theres this one unidentified drive called SM Bus Controller. I've never encountered this before so I don't know what to do. Can anyone tell me what it is and where I can download it from?

BTW, this is the setup.

MSI P35 Neo2
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550
Corsair Dominator 1066MHz 2GB
Nvidia 8800 GTS

Thanks.

The obvious one is to reinstall all the chipset drivers from the site. I assume you have done this, but I just thought it check . . . :D

Don't forget your Smbus!! Terribles.

It is part of the chipset driver package.

Instead of downloading the whole package you can also grab your driver CD with the chipset drivers, then go to update driver for the device (in device manager) and point it at the CD. I do that when I don't want to install all the other stuff but the Intel drivers won't make your system asplode.

I have the same problem with the following setup:
Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6 AMD 790FX (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
AMD Phenom X4 Black Edition 9950 2.60GHz Processor

Any ideas please?
Thanks
