SM951 Read / Write performance on Asus ROG Maximus VIII

I just built a new with the two components as per the title and think the SM951 is running slower than it should be. I have read speeds of around 1500 and write speeds of 550-650 or so. Is this right? I utterly clueless when it comes to these M2 drives so unsure what it should be at, but advertised speeds are more than this?

Thanks for the replies. Turns out I am an idiot and it is the PM951 I have and not the SM, so the speeds I am getting are fine.
