Small As Possible System - £350 Limit...

Hi Guys,

Need a system, small as possible case wise but doesn't have to be shuttle, for £350 topps Inc Del. Lower the better :) Preferably 2GB Memory, and purely only system required, barring HDD too. TFT etc already got, as this is to replace my Shuttle, hence the size issue.

Decent enough G-Card to run most games comfortably would be nice :)
Shuttle is only 1500+, therefore wouldn't even run NFS:MW with GeForce 4 :( So a considerable step up from that would be pleasant...

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers,

Petey.

Wasnt sure if you needed a HD or not...it has one anyway. X800GTO is a LOT faster than any inbuilt graphics and the CPU is a good boost over what you have (also a good clocker/runs cool). Small micro ATX cube case, looks nice, has a decent PSU and about as close to a shuttle as you can get for this money and you get your 2gb of ram.

Best i can do, i guess youll have to make do with your optical drive

it really is worth spending that little more on the gfx card if you can, and go over budget, but if not nm :) , and since you dont seem to be that much of a perpetual upgrader, i doubt s754 will be much of a problem for you... and these semprons clock like stink :)

Kool, thanks bud.

How good is the X800GTO? Your comparing it to onboard graphics?
Take HDD out cause not needed nope, and I'd get a DVDRW with the cash and maybe better G card for near enough same price?

Pete.

Thats rather tasty :) Thanks dude.
Yeah the DVD-RW is a nice addition.
Im literally only taking TFT, Cables and HDD from current shuttle.
Would replace 1Gig with 2Gig or Ram, then thats not too bad I guess?

Pete.

>>**Edit**<< Plus, how about the Asus Terminator T2-AE1 Barebones System (Silver) - AMD Socket 754 (FS-025-AS) instead, just simply cause its sexier? :p
Will all that fit into it?

BTW don't want a Sempron at all, Athlon 64 all the way please guys :)

 Numpty here... Tar bud.

Ok, any 939 case that is bit sexier? Close to shuttle size as possible, not that its overly important, just incase?

Thanks guys,

Pete.

Ok,

So ignoring all of the above, what would I be looking at, as good a gaming system as possible for £350 [or lower] instead, forgetting case size etc... The more boring the case, the better tbh. Black and gray if preferable

Nothing spectacular at all by any means, just something that will run games fairly well will do me, a nice little compact system. I'm not looking for all video and graphic settings to be on high or anything, just something quite smooth.

Preferably around or as close to a 200gb Sata HDD, 2gb memory if possible, but 1gb as long as its DDr2 is sufficient. PCI-E Gfx card please :)
And whats best, the am2 processors, or the venice or equiv' range?

Really need help here chaps,

Thanking you,

Pete.

Ditto.

and just to let you know there is very little performance gain between AM2 and 939. Plus there arent many 939 DDR2 mobos, sorry.

What about this graphics card ? it's supposed to be pretty good (better than a 7600gs) & has shader model 3. It's cheap too.

but again that is the best i can do with such a tight budget
