Small dent removal + moron rant

The car is a BMW 5 Series E39, not a Bugatti Veyron. I don't think it's worth getting that worried bout parking tbh.

What possible relevance is that? I would have been just as annoyed if the car was my pride and joy £500 Peugeot 106 XSi. The car doesn't matter, the fact it's something I care about is what matters. It could be a Ford or a Ferrari I'd get just as miffed about other people deciding that dents dont matter.

The attitude of some of the people in this thread is pathetic and perhaps explains why this sort of thing happens. I come on here and ask for advice on how to remove a dent and have a quick rant to vent some steam and although half the people are helpful the other half think I should 'get over it' and that it 'doesnt matter'.

If so called 'car enthusiasts' like yourselves do not understand why people dont want a car covered in dents, then expecting the general public to care really is a lost cause.

And to all of you saying there is nothing you can do about it - well I believe there is, after all, it didn't last 5 years before its first ever parking dent by pure fluke when you find some 1 year old cars absolutely peppered in them, did it?

If I see your car parked in the street Dogbreath do you mind if I slam my door into the side of it? After all, its just a car. You really ought to get over yourself if you care. And don't you dare make a post on an internet car enthusiasts forum about it becuase that means you are going to an early grave..

Where do I 'not care'? See above - it's the reason why supermarket spaces are smaller. So they can fit in larger, wider spaces.

Erm.. if this isn't a cynical dig at them, coupled with your stance in every mother/toddler parking space thread, then I don't know what is..
so they can make parent and baby marketing spaces
.. to say they are 'marketing' implies they have no other reason to exist, or are you trying to be all coy about it now?

Anyway, I agree with your frustration over the ding, it's wrong for anyone to damage other peoples property, no excuses..

But that is why they are there - Supermarkets are there to make money and not provide a public service. The provision of Parent and Baby spaces is a marketing decision designed to increase the appeal of the supermarket to parents, and to provide an image of being 'family friendly'. I'm not really sure how you can dispute that?

Anyway the whole Parent and Baby thing has been done to death in numerous 10 page threads anyway and I doubt anyone has any fresh opinion since then :p

That's it, 95% of the public don't care. There is absoloutely nothing you can do about it, it's unavoidable as I've said, you may care for your car doesn't mean everyone else does.

What I meant is, the BMW would be far cheaper to sort out than a Bugatti Veyron would be so when something unavoidable in every day life can be sorted at a small cost is it worth getting so flustered as you seem to be getting?

I agree with your frustration but there is nothing we can do about it :(.

Mate.. I've posted a thread on an internet forum, I'm hardly banging my head against the wall looking for a pair of scissors to help me end it all

Thank Lord for that, it's the way your first couple of posts came across :D

We can only wish, get over yourself.

Just thanks your lucky stars you don't live in Rome. I visited in July and although a lovely place, they seem to have an 'every-man-for-himself' traffic system. I kid you not, I think at most, I saw one out of every ten cars that was undamaged.....nearly every other car had smashed bumpers, scratches, dents, etc all over them.

We can only wish, get over yourself.

You need to make an appointment with your GP. He can help you see somebody who can explore the reasons why you appear to have an irrational mental illness which can make you wish death on people on the internet you've never met.

Not yet. Seems they charge a set fee for the first few dents. So I'll probably wait until it gets a few more then get them all done at the same time.

I'm strongly considering Johnz0rs advice though, it's the best in the thread so far. I need to get over myself, and perhaps consider suicide, becuase I post in car forums asking for dent removal tips.

I made a thread becuase making a thread takes 30 seconds, perhaps 45 if the link lead for the camera is slow, and means people can offer advice as to how to fix it.

I care, but I don't care quite as much as some people seem to think :)

I certainly don't care as much as you seem to about somebody you don't know and have never met. That's rather concerning, you really need to see somebody about it :p I really do think there must be something that needs sorting with you if you can feel that strongly about posts on a forum on the internet. Have you tried getting out more?

It's just not healthy to have hatred for somebody and want them to kill themselves simply becuase you think they post crap on the internet.

WHAAAAAAAAT?! Unavoidable? The fact the majority of people have little or no respect for other people's property isn't unavoidable - they just need to learn! Be that by someone seeing them doing it and passing their details on to the drive, or by the driver seeing it happen, being unhinged, and giving them a smack - I don't care!

But other people's lack of respect is NO reason to think "Whey, it's only a small cost to get it fixed"... I mean, these dent removers are charging what, £70?... a small cost? I earn a few quid myself, but I'd still be horrified at having to pay £70 just because some nobber decides they want to get out of their car like an OAP!

If you need any info on how to throw a proper emo fit I can help there :p

On a serious note, I do know the frustration mate.

Like the time I paid £320 for paintwork to be done on the car, took it out the night I got it back and it ended up with 4 scratches and a dent on the bonnet where some stupid tart decided to walk on it with her high heels!

Ah well, bah humbug and all that :p

We can't make them learn, therefore it's unavoidable as people will continue to act like idiots with no regard for peoples property regardless of where you park it.
