Hey guys,

Long time lurker here but now it's my time to ask a question;

Does anyone have recommendations for a build that's relatively small (would prefer having an upgrade path later so smaller mid-tower maybe?) to replace my fathers existing setup.

He currently has an i7 3770k, 16gb DDR3, massive case (brand name escapes me), gtx 460, several SSD's (these can be re-used) and the usual peripherals.

No need for RGB or windowed cases etc, function over form, quiet preferred.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and let me know if you need more info.

Cheers!

Since no one has responded to your thread.

The first thing i can think of, is buy a new graphics card, the processor has enough power but not the best.

If he games at 1080p then he should get a gtx 1060 6gb,

If he games at 1440p, then he should get a gtx 1070 or gtx 1070ti i'd get the 1070ti.

If he games at 4k then he should get a gtx 1080 or get 1080ti but make sure the power supply can support any of these graphics cards.

If he wants a new processor then this below,

AM4 socket will be supported until 2020 so he can always upgrade the processor at 2020 and in anycase we can all agree that amd is more future proof when compared to intel for one reason out of many prehaps is that amd will support this AM4 motherboard socket as have said

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £405.47 (includes shipping: £10.50)

This comes with 16gb of ram and a free ssd which is worth £50.

edit the motherboard is atx since you want small form factor.
