Okay, this has been happening over several motherboards for a few weeks now. I'm not sure if its a problem with graphics card or memory. Can anyone please shed some light?

Basically every so often a texture will get a little screwed up. It can be little icons or quite often the desktop background will start missing several chunks and they'll be black.

Here's an image that shows the little buttons on my right click menu messed up:

It happens when my system is overclocked or completely at stock. I've never really pushed my graphics card that hard as it's not a great overclocker it seems.

Does anyone know what the issue might be? Maybe my RAM is borked? Everything else works fine. I've never noticed the issue on a 3D texture in game but I have noticed it on the money counter for example in Bioshock.

I've only seen that when windows struggles for resources, eg low memory or it's been used for a long time without a reboot though thats days rather than hours.

Other occasions may be an app didn't close properly and is hanging to to resources.

I don't think it's a hardware issue but if you want some peace of mind why now run a few stability tests, eg Orthos, Memtest 86, 36Mark 06 etc.

I've run ATi Tool test for the graphics. I have yet to run memtest again but when I did it when first stability testing the machine it passed fine. Orthos passed a 16hr test as well back then.

It could just be a narcy program I guess.. can't think of anything that would cause it though.
