Hi guys I'm wondering if getting an ssd that would have only the OS on it wold be beneficial in terms of speedif I was to install my games and software on a second drive non SSD?

cheers!

THis is what i do. On the SSD i have Windows 7, all my utilities, drivers, office and AOE3 ( accidentally :p ) and i have 27Gb free from 60Gb

I have a 1Tb external for all my storage stuff and a 500Gb internal for games

Brilliant and you can see a speed improvement?

I have SC2 on my SSD and you can notice it loading faster, but it's the OS and stuff like Office that you notice the difference. The difference is night and day and I'd recommend an SSD to anyone with the cash, one of the best upgrades I've made.

very similar - W7, office, drivers, CS5 etc on 40gb kingston and 500gb internal for all other stuff.

Massive speed improvement with regards CS5 etc - loads in about 2 seconds now compared to about 10-12 secs on standard hard drive.

Also silent which is great - my 500gb drive spins down after 10 mins of non activity so it's lovely and quiet!!
