Hi, looking to do a small upgrade between a new SSD or Memory (not sure which would be more beneficial). Budget is around £200 so not looking in to a CPU/GPU.

-Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMD16GX4M2B3200C

-970 PRO Polaris 512GB M.2 2280 PCI-e 3.0 x4 NVMe Solid State Drive

The same set (Signature is my current setup), would basically be an upgrade from 16GB to 32GB.

Ask yourself, do you need 32gb of ram ? it doesn't bring anymore performance increase, so which would benefit you more, or is it for aesthetic purposes ?

The nvme will bring a performance increase.

Im stuck in the limbo of i want an upgrade but with limited money, was leaning towards the SSD because as you asked do i need 32GB of memory (not really). Wasn't sure if the upgrade from Intel 750 series would give me any noticbale improvement or not.

you're not thinking mate... :p

sell your 980ti and get a 1070ti/1080/1080ti (you've got members market access)
definitely doable under budget for a 1070ti/1080, should be just about doable for just over £250 for a 1080ti.
that'll give the best performance gains, way more than a ssd sidegrade, or an extra 16gb ram

I sell all my old parts on the members market :).

Never went for a 1080ti or later gen CPU because the performance gains were so small compared to price, i mean yeah a second hand 1080ti maybe but i still play at 1080p so not really worth it (a 980ti at 1080p is still over doing it).

If you want more SSD storage I would grab one of these. Both are solid drives.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £339.48 (includes shipping: £10.50)

More about the speed than the storage for me, i don't use a lot of space, i understand from the Intel 750 series to a newer M.2 i might not notice a difference in performance other than benchmarks. Was curious.

If i upgraded to a M.2 i would most likely sell the 750 series.

there won't be any perceptible difference outside of benchmarks.
heck, even going from sata to nvme yields very little difference unless one is hammering the storage subsystem (eg same drive copies or large file read/writes from video editing)

What's making you want to upgrade? It doesn't sound like you're struggling for frames in games. Is it just you've got some cash and itch you need to scratch? What are you looking to achieve?

It's the only answer that really matters, welcome home brother! Haha

What monitor do you have? I know its 1080p but is it 60hz or more? Gsync or Freesync? I'd personally try and replace the monitor if you don't have a 144hz gsync panel. You'd definitely see a difference there, if you have one already I'd definitely sell your gpu and get a 1070ti. That way you'll be tempted to go 1440p and have another itch that needs scratching

I have a BenQ XL2411T (144hz) & LG E2351 (60hz), was thinking about a new monitor a while back (1440p) but wasn't sure how the 980ti would handle it.
