Hey all.

I've got 2 upgrade options, one is more of an aesthetic path, and the second is well, i'm not sure to be honest :p

1: 2x 19" Widescreen monitors, and an X1800XT

or

2: 1x 19" Widescreen monitor, X1800, and 2gb of ram.

So basically, the X1800 is a definate. The decision lies with either getting 2 monitors, or getting one with some new ram?

So, will i need the uber desktop width (going from a 17" CRT)? Will i need 2gb of ram? And will the x1800 benefit the extra ram?

Help :)

I would go for the screen, GFX, RAM option myself.

You are upgrading from 17" so I hardly see the need for you to jump straight to a combined 38" screen size...

Yeh, i'm starting to realise the true size of them :p It was for more a novelty factor/bragging rights. But i spose i wont be showing off when i get lag. Extra ram it is :)

Good man. You can always get an extra monitor when deleting a screen full of icons seems like too much hassle :p

Personally I would get one monitor and the gfx card and save the rest. Unless you are not planning to upgrade your cpu/mobo any time soon as the RAM will not be able to be used in the new system (unless you go legacy) so will be largely lost funds (especially bad if you are spending a fair whack on the ram).

Though of the two options i would definately go gfx/1 monitor/ram - if the 2 monitor thingy was only for bragging rights it's a waste of moolah imo.

If he carries that on to the second monitor that's an excuse for a third one!

Lol i got one 24" dell full of icons might have to get another

I say ram graphic card and monitor because all you can do is strech icons across 2 monitors. I heard it messing around to strech games on both monitors. I dont think the graphic card would be able to take them both in gaming.
