So, i have a thing for small pc's, but I need a high end pc for uni. (i7, good gfx card etc, see sig..)

Whats the best small system you can put together today (or near future, with those da box cases etc)

Just curious and wondering whats do able in such a small space :)

ideally id like to use existing components (my i7 as im pushing 4ghz+ out of it, tri-ram[however the shuttle i saw only did 1600 speeds, wheres my ram will push 1800+], gfx card?! thats the big question is if you can actually cram a good gpu in a small setup..)

I wouldn't want to be going backwards as it were.

could a 300watt psu even hope to power such a system either?

i went matx before my i7, well a lian li v350, and found that still quite bigish D: (i had cpu watered too so it was cramped and too fussy)

that da box 100 caught my eye though, and the devs said they were making an itx gamer case in spring 2010 so :D Wouldnt happen to know which card legths it can house do you? (the 100)

looking into a v300/dabox (not sure which though!) and that dfi looks stonking, or a gene 2? :) Decisions!

da box looks awesome actually, its won my heart!

i need my i7 due to uni , so i5 is a no go.

Just seen that evga mentioned over at lanbox forum, cheers for the link :)

dabox with red internals, + that evga = win? ;)

how does the h50 cope with the i7 clock btw?

(why do they all only have one ethernet, dammit! I use my other for a bridge to my ps3, haha)

id fit a cooler in the dabox, but wanted to stroll into water again. Hmmmm. Think i found the mobo for 170 which aint too bad, and have emailed about the case :)

(lucky berk for winning that mobo so early! I hate you :D)

going to, was mentioned above. Ive never been too keen on shuttles, but they are tiny , which is what i'd preffer atm.

anyone got any spy info at all about them? I dont want to wait :P can only find 2 news snippets of about a paragraph :(

i have a v600 atm so going to an a03 would be a bit silly :P

ive heared somewhere the dabox is similar to a v350 but a little shorter?

Waiting on the shuttle as i cant get a dabox till at least end of feb now :/ However, price for a shuttle seems might high, the current i7 is what £470, where as a case and mobo is roughly 300ish

J series guys:

allows for mitx mobos, ooo!
3 new systems, i3 i5 and i7.

all in on x50 too

THE HIGH-PERFORMANCE J SERIES

The Shuttle SX58J3 is built up from the new "J3" chassis, designed for hardcore gamers and enthusiasts who require full throttle performance. It is based on the Intel(R) X58 chipset to run the fastest, most extreme Intel(R) Core(TM)i7 processors, with support for ATI CrossFireX(TM) and NVIDIA(R) SLI(TM) graphics configurations. It's more than ready to meet the demands of today's hottest games with more realism, intensity, and performance than ever before.

wonder if i could live without a soundcard :P Late q1 early q2 though, thats ages away.
cant do much till end of feb anyway! so probably will wait >.>

actually, its 4 ram slots, but can config to use 3 sticks of ram. Like the current one?

current one does xfire and sli too?

i bet its gonna be topside of 500 though

actually, whats the point in this one, apart from it takes diff motherboards (ok thats a big step), but thats it. H7 does everything the same

it just seems a bit silly, no top end gfx cards are single slot? so sli/xfire is a bit O.o at that size?

im confused now >.>

sg07 takes mitx and full size length gfx cards and atx psu! Interesting :D

Now just need someone to announce an i7 itx >.>

Then there is Shuttle’s SDXI Kazi, which is extremely similar to the high-end J-Series. Both machines are cube-shaped and come with Intel X58 chipsets, Core i7 CPUs, 1+3 channel DDR3 memory, dual video card support, 7.1 HD audio and 500W power supplies. The main difference between the Kazi and the top notch J-Series model is that the Kazi has a liquid cooling system, while the J-Series does not

They have a computer called a Kazi? :D Anyway just stumbled on this thread, it depends on 'smallest' or 'high end'. I was thinking on the same lines but obviously not powerful but how does a Mac Mini stack up?

Im needing i7, atleast 6gig of ram and a high end gpu :P

aye im considering the new shuttle :) Just want more details, if its the same and just a redesign (which it sounds) it should knock the H7 price down ;)

I think I am gonna go shuttle though, i love the thought of a mitx i7 :D
