Been troubleshooting intermittent lockups on my under the stairs headless server. I've got 3 12TB drives running in Server 2019 storage spaces. It was recently upgraded from server 2016, and I just re-attached the drive pool, all seemed OK. It's the RAID0 type of setup, so no redundancy.
However on investigation, I'm getting the following SMART error for one of the drives (the only one that's out of warranty):
[05] Reallocated Sector Count: 100/10, Worst 100 (Data = 16.0)
Lockups have happened approximately every 2 days but typically since I pulled it out and plugged it into a monitor it hasn't happened yet, so I haven't see any errors on screen just yet.
Everything's safely backed up. 2 questions really:
Am I right in thinking this is likely to be the cause of the lockups I've been seeing?
Is this HDD now for the bin, or is there any way this problem could be something that reformatting, running CHKDISK etc might help with?
Cheers
