I like the look of the Roadster, although pretty lousy performance, really you don't need it on todays roads, but it looks ok. Although it'll look better with front and side coloured bits the same as the body.

Cheap insurance band? and good fuel economy:confused:

My mates got one of the roadsters and although its fun to drive it's been riddled with electrical faults and a leaking roof after heavy downpours. It's been back to smart 3 or 4 times in the last year or so and even the head mechanic at Smart Newcastle said that the faults are commen! Power steering, brakes and lights all failing whilst driving along is not something I'd like to experiance again

Mate got rid of his recently, back to the dealers 14 times and they never managed to fix the leaking. Mainly through the wing mirrors, but also through the roof.

Great little fun cars, but best used when its dry.

If I had one I would smash it up. It sums up what's wrong with the modern life.

everyone wants the sporty look, but are to worried about co2 and 99% of people haven't even read up on the subject.

Bit of an ignorant view there.

I used to have a Smart back in London, and for none of the reasons that you mentioned. I wanted something small, fun, and different, and the Smart fit the bill perfectly. :)

With the cost of petrol now, I don't think a 3L petrol is a sane option.

why not it totally depends on your disposable income.
Also I never said small cars where bad, it's the "sporty" small plastic cars that are pointless.

Have you ever driven one?
I test drove a Brabus Roadster Coupe, and it was one of the best times i've had behind the wheel of a car, it was great great fun. The only reason I didn't buy it was due to the overblown cost (which was simply due to the Brabus badge i'm sure).

Regarding the leaks problem though, I agree. That was a bad mess, but IIRC it was only the convertable models?
