Not sure why every post I search colour code and diferent instructions and diagrams that don't match the UK cable colours.

Back of the smart swtich has only N, L and L1.

From the pic of the normal switch what would be the what's N, what's L and what's L1.

Going crazy hehe and thank you

Your picture shows a 2 way switch, your description of the smart switch sounds like it's a 1 way switch.

You do have neutrals at the switch (they are in the connector block at the back, the blue)

Your smart switch sounds like it's a 1 way switch that needs a neutral to work. You need a 2 way switch.

Do you currently have two switches controlling one light fitting?

The smart switches don't really need to work with two way cabling but it all depends on how you want to control them and if you want to be able to turn the light on and off at two points still.

Both those switches are 1way, they control a single switch wire.

At the moment I have one switch which does on and off. I thought one way meant the pressing it would turn on or off.

Guess even if it is smart I need two way and not one way :(

Not if you don't need more than one switch working the light/lights that switch you took off controls.

All you need do it take the blue cables out of the connector block (neutrals) they go into the N on the smart switch (you may find they don't fit the terminal, so would need to take a wire from that connector block to the switch)

The browns twisted together go into the L of the smart switch, as above you may need to put them in a connector block and take a feed from that.

Then you have the brown twisted with the grey, separate those two and put the brown in the L1 of the smart switch.

Then put the grey and black in separate connectors and push them to the back.

If any of that didn't make sense get an electrician to take a look.

Without the grey cable fit somewhere the lights don't come up.

The led panel comes up but no lights on or off

I can't really help without guessing from this point. Would need to check connections else where.

You will likely need to call a local electrician to take a look for you.
