A comprehensive free Smart Phone benchmark that is better optimized than Quadrant.

Smartbench 2010 Info/Download
(also on the Android Marketplace)

'Smartbench 2010 is a benchmark application that measures the overall performance of your smartphone. It reports both Productivity and Games Index to suit both productivity users and 3D gaming users.'

Simply download and hit 'run benchmark'.

Warning: this application will NOT work on smartphones that do not have a GPU.

Known issue: On some Samsung Galaxy S based devices, you may experience very low benchmark numbers. This issue is still being looked into.

----------------------------------------------------

I'll kick it off.

Phone: Orange San Francisco (overclocked from 600Mhz to 768Mhz)

RLS7 Japanese Jellyfish 2.2

Productivity Index: 608

Games Index: 745

Go on then I'll bite.

Motorola Defy runniing 2.1

^ what o/c are you running now?

Moto Defy (Ninja blur 2.1, 1GHz)
PI: 750
GI: 2200

Htc Desire (stock senseUI 2.2, no o/c)
PI: 850
GI: 740

(Edit: it's still a somewhat pointless benchmark :p)

Motorola Dext
PI - 157
GI - 273

I'm sure those scores (or at least the PI) are dodgy though, I'm running a custom 2.1 rom and am overclocked to 730Mhz. It certainly feels pretty quick to use, similar to a friends Desire.

HTC Hero @710mhz

FroydVillain 1.7.2

PI: 129
GI: 429

phones screen timed out and locked once, unsure if it affects score.

I don't like losing so i ran it again @ 749mhz :D
PI: 208
GI: 331

strange scores

PI: 142
GI: 345

HTC Magic running at 576MHz (think stock is 528MHz?) and running the ezterry Gingerbread 'alpha'

Hi guys, I am the author of Smartbench 2010. I am tracking this thread mainly to collect some feedback. If anyone has any bugs to report, or has any suggestions, please let me know! :D

I'd also gladly answer any questions regarding this app.

Nexus One with CM 6.1.1

Productivity Index: 1040
Gaming Index: 1028

Edit: Rerun test after rebooting due to phone not being rebooted for a week.

PI: 1043
GI: 1060

Negligible difference really. At least I know that even after a week of being on my phone manages resources pretty well :)
